Ghosts and Spirits have been around us all for all of eternity – even if we do not actually “believe” in them. Ghosts or Spirits are a vital part of all of our lives even though most people cannot see or communicate with them. How many ofyou have felt the thought of unseen eyes upon you at some time in your life? How many of you are unsure that certain happenings in your lives could have been directly caused by spirits? Can say with certainty that you have never listened to or shared a ghost story in your life without fascination and an inquiring mind?

Ghostly legends abound wherever history has made its mark. Skeletons of the Civil War follows the ghosts of the Army of Tennessee from the bloody Battle of Shiloh to its decimation on the killing fields of Franklin. Combining the craft of a story-teller (Glass), with the expert knowledge of a military historian (Mathews), the stories in this book are packed with archival photographs and intriguing first-hand accounts. Read fresh, spine-tingling accounts of a headless horseman who gallops through the eerie cedar glades at Stones River, the tale of the regiment which earned the nickname The Bloody Ninth at Shiloh, the phantom regiment at Resaca, the spirit of Tennessee’s dashing Boy General, who followed a woman home, the mysterious empty graves near the Hazen monument, weirdness at The Dead Angle, true accounts of spirits who haunt the cavernous rooms of Tennessee’s grand plantation.
There is something about an antebellum mansion that whispers ghost. From the rolling cotton fields of Colbert County, Alabama to the haunted hills of Tennessee, there is hardly a pre-Civil War dwelling that cannot boast of some resident spirit or similar unexplained phenomena. Steeped in history, Haunted Mansions in the Heart of Dixie is a collection of true Southern haint tales set in the fertile Tennessee Valley. From the mysterious Bell Witch to the inexplicable events at Belle Mont Mansion, these tales recount some of the most infamous Southern hauntings of all time. Explore the dark history of Dixie with spirits who loved their homes so much that even in death they refuse to leave, and unearth other more diabolical specters hell-bent on the settling of old scores. All the tales within are authentic.
This eerie collection of supernatural tales steeped in legend and truth, includes, among others, the story of a Civil War soldier who haunts the Trowbridge’s Restaurant, a headless spectre that wanders the woods of Waterloo, the true story of Ghost Bridge, a child ghost who suffered a tragic death after being bitten by a rabid dog, the spooky haunting of an antebellum mansion in Tuscumbia, and the chilling tale of mysterious spirits that drove away the owners of a cursed Courtland plantation.
This second eerie collection of supernatural tales of Northwest Alabama, follows in the tradition of Volume One of the first True Shoals Ghosts Stories series, and includes, among others, the tale of spirits in the Sweetwater Mansion, the tragic story of a child ghost in a historic Wood Avenue home, the hauntings of the Ritz Theater and Norton Auditorium, strange occurrences at the Woodlawn Plantation, the mysterious blood on the stairs in the Nance Home, the ghost of a mail carrier who still haunts the Sheffield Post Office, and the spine tingling tale of a creature who stalks the sloughs and woods of Lawrence County, Alabama.
Explore real-life hauntings steeped in legend and truth with author and historian, Debra Glass, in this third collection of True Shoals Ghost Stories. The tales include, among others, the Civil War legend of a Winston County woman who refuses to rest until she wreaks vengeance on the men who murdered her husband, buried treasure guarded by a spectral horse, the mysterious bloodstains marring the floor of a remote Lauderdale County plantation, the tragic tale of a phantom mother who still searches for her lost child, a Civil War doctor who seems to be with us yet, strange occurrences at a local radio station, and the haunting of the historic Muscle Shoals Sound studio. True Shoals Ghost Stories, Vol. 3 features over a dozen spine-tingling, real-life ghost stories with photos and historical accounts. But only the reader can decide whether or not to believe…
